Swatch Alternative Fashion Week
After phenomenal success in 2004, Swatch Alternative Fashion Week, presented by Alternative Arts, is set to return from the 14th to 18th March 2005. The Week is the event for young fashion designers to be discovered, with colleges and individuals competing for a Swatch Individual Designer Award or Swatch College Award in recognition of their originality, creativity or innovative use of design.
Swatch Alternative Fashion Week provides a genuine alternative platform for truly unique fashion pieces and reflects our key brand values of fun, fashion and provocation. In 2005 the event will take place in an exciting new location at The Truman Brewery in Brick Lane, which has become the creative hub of London's East End and already been dubbed the new Portobello.
Maggie Pinhorn, Director of Alternative Fashion Week, shares our excitement; "We are delighted that Swatch is to be title sponsor of Alternative Fashion Week 2005 and help support fashion at grass roots level. The Week is all about showcasing the most original collections and finding the real fashion stars of the future."
To support the event, Swatch has also teamed up with Premier Model Management to hold a modelling competition to find "The Face of Swatch". Premier's professional scouts will be searching the crowds for new faces, with the winning model becoming "The Face of Swatch" and offered the opportunity of a Premier modelling contract.
