The four "umbrella trends" Mudpie forecast for the season are:

Utopia
Design is inspired by ideals and alternatives; indigenous cultures of Oceania and Africa are all interpreted within a modern context. Coastal extremes, Aboriginal art and African aesthetics present a pleasing clash of values and blend of cultural unity. Tribal rhythms are balanced with innovative use of natural materials and resources.

Conscious
A return to old world values and ethics, the conscientious traveller embraces relaxation with Riviera style cruising, fantastical airships and classic train journeys. Design realizes an essence of calm sophistication and elegance. Traditional styles are revisited; simple luxury reflects a nautical touch. Conscious reclaims classic styling by creating bespoke alternatives.

Creative
"Retro" defines the care free attitude of the neo-hippy on the classic American road trip. Nostalgic journeys take in kitsch beach scenes and compelling coastlines. Design is inspired by vintage postcards, poolside images, Hawaiian beaches and Californian motels. Style evokes simplicity, forgotten freedom and long, almost endless summers.

Kinetic
Energy and movement define a fashion transformation. Performative apparel morphs into everyday wear; bionic lifestyles integrate optimal comfort with functional styling and intelligent textiles. Traditional sports and dance collide with active street movements. Combative urban dance, street sports and a retro cycle courier look all convert effortlessly into a grungy work wear look.
