Pentagram Partner Justus Oehlerand his team in the Berlin office have designed BLUNT, the latest monograph from celebrity photographer Nigel Parry. The book pairs iconic black and white portraits together in a thought-provoking sequence that is paced with memorable quotes from the photo shoots.

BLUNT is the third Nigel Parry book Oehler has designed, the first being SHARP in 2000 and in 2004, PRECIOUS. Oehlers book design allows Parrys work to speak for itself. As he stated: the straight forward design allows Parrys striking black and white portraits of the rich and famous to dominate. Oehler chose a bright, glowing green as the accent color for the project, a dazzling tone that adds structure and a sense of excitement to the 145 duotone prints.

Published by powerHouse, the three books have been distributed worldwide and with much critical acclaim. ForBLUNT, Parry shot an impressive variety of film, political, sport and music personalities including George W. Bush, Hillary Clinton, Condoleezza Rice, Clint Eastwood, Brad Pitt, Susan Sarandon, Gael Garc Bernal, Chuck Berry, Paul Wolfowitz, Harvey Weinstein, George Lucas, 50 Cent, and Mos Def.
