Design Concepts, Inc., a nationally recognized product design firm located in Madison, WI, welcomes Rainer Schnabel to the position of director of new product development.
Schnabel brings more than 20 years of experience in product development, project management and strategic product planning. As a senior executive at Design Concepts, he will share his experience and passion for design and strategy with the firm's world-wide client base. He brings an enterprise-focused philosophy to the field of innovation consulting and will help tailor Design Concepts' methodology and services to position each client for success in the marketplace. Within his new role, Schnabel will provide counsel and product strategies for clients, create customized product development plans, coordinate initiatives and expand the firm's offerings to include a greater emphasis on strategic business services.
For the past 15 years, Rainer has worked as executive vice president with Brooks Stevens Design in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Before joining Brooks Stevens, Schnabel handled marketing for Tyco International's Star Sprinkler and for the Milwaukee and Chicago offices of Jakob and Optima, both based in Germany.
Schnabel earned his Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from the Darmstadt University of Technology in Darmstadt, Germany. He is a member of the Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA), Product Development & Management Association (PDMA) and the Design Management Institute (DMI).
