The Porsche Design Studio designed an exclusive free standing wine cellar for champagne makers Veuve Clicquot. The gadget is made from brushed stainless steel and comes in a limited edition of 15 pieces stocked with twelve selected bottles of Veuve Clicquot vintage champagne.
The reflection of the joint pattern of the bottles being vertically arranged against one another is a special characteristic feature of the free standing wine cellar. The overall design of the gadget itself projects a monolithic, stele-like and purist appeal.
Each bottle is stacked behind its own door, the purpose being to enhance the exclusiveness of each individual vintage. When opening the door, the bottle behind it is presented on a Veuve Clicquot-yellow illuminated background. The labels on the champagne bottles were also designed by the Porsche Design Studio and repeat the succinct, graphic lines of the free standing wine cellar.
The Porsche Design-Studio is located in Zell am See/Austria and represents the purist, timeless and unique design language that is the hallmark of all products of the Porsche Design Group. The Studio also designs products on behalf of third parties active in the fields of industrial and product design. The free standing wine cellar "Vertical Limit" was commissioned by a third party.
