Buck Expands Capabilities with Douglas Wilkinson as VFX Supervisor

Buck, the bi-coastal design-driven creative company specializing in animation, visual effects and live action, recently signed Douglas Wilkinson as VFX Supervisor.

"As our clients and projects change, we are evolving with the market and are consequently expanding our capabilities and processes," said Ryan Honey, Creative Director, Buck/LA. "Doug brings a great amount of expertise in CG, visual effects, compositing and pipeline management that will help us better service our clients and allow us to offer a wider variety of creative solutions. Buck has always been about working with mediums and techniques that are creatively right for the project. We are really excited about being able to enhance these capabilities at our studio."

After graduating from Northeastern University in Boston, Wilkinson started his career at Rustmonkey, Inc., serving as Assistant VFX Supervisor. He then joined Digital Domain in 2004 where he worked with heavy hitter directors Brian Beletic, David Fincher and Joseph Kosinski. After taking various freelance positions, including a stint at Logan, he joined SWAY in April 2006. Then in January 2007, Wilkinson hooked up with Digital Domain again, but this time as a CG Supervisor.

His most notable spots include Hummer "Video Game," via Joseph Kosinski and Modernista, Heineken "Beer Run," via David Fincher and Wieden & Kennedy, Amsterdam, Gatorade "Shattered" via Brian Beletic and Element 79, Lexus "Pollen" via David Fincher and Team One Advertising and Amp "Paper," via Dante Ariola and Ogilvy & Mather (which won a Clio last year). He also worked on the feature "We Own the Night," which is nominated for this year's VES Awards.
