Japan Design 2008: Innovation

Japan Industrial Design Promotion Organization, the organization involved in the comprehensive promotion of design activities, is holding an exhibition "Japan Design 2008 - Innovation" from April 16th to 20th in Milan, Italy.

The exhibition is directed by internationally known designer Toshiyuki Kita, and runs during the session of Milan Salone, which is the world's largest interior and design trade fair.

15 established Japanese industrial companies participate in this exhibition, to promote various Japanese design through exhibited products and prototypes.

This is the second exhibition in Milan held by JIDPO, following the first exhibition dedicated to the fiftieth anniversary of the Good Design Award "Japan Design: Good Design Award 50 Years".

Those participating 15 companies have impressive records of achievement at proactive approach towards design, and are Good Design Award (G-mark) prize winning companies.

Themes of environmental issue, concept of communication and ideal lifestyle are worldwide growing concern nowadays.

Japanese companies attempt to present solutions to these subjects, and approach new proposal with design.

Such latest Japanese design and product attracts worldwide attention, thanks to Japan property such as high technology, confirmed technique, sophisticated idea, and cultural ability to absorb various elements in a flexible manner.
