The Smithsonian's Cooper-Hewitt, National Design Museum will invite the public to express their views on what constitutes good design with the People's Design Award.
Whether an everyday object, a design classic or an architectural landmark, design enthusiasts can submit nominations, participate in an active dialogue around the nominees and select their favorite designs by visiting Cooper-Hewitt website beginning Monday, Sept. 22.
Launched in 2006, the People's Design Award complements the Museum's annual National Design Awards, which recognize the best in American design across a range of disciplines.
The winner announcement will take place on Oct. 23 at the National Design Awards Gala in New York City and will be streamed live on Cooper-Hewitt's website.
