Design Within Reach announced the three winners of its 6th annual Champagne Chair Contest.
The Champagne Chair Contest challenges participants to create an original miniature chair from nothing more than the wire, cork, cage and foil of no more than two Champagne bottles, glue being the only permitted adhesive.
The winners for 2009 are Jesse Menayan in the Judges' Pick category, Gavri Slasky in the Popular Vote and Tony Nemyer as the Staff Pick.
The Judges' Pick panel for 2009 was made up of DWR CEO Ray Brunner; Jennifer Morla, DWR's Chief Marketing and Creative Officer; and Gregg Buchbinder, Chairman of Emeco.
The three judges considered the entrants' craftsmanship, creativity, character and the innovative use of materials, and selected Jesse Menayan's Kub Armchair as the winner.
