Brett Favre? Who needs him when you've got the Packers Guy.
He's a huge Green Bay Packers fan, surrounding himself with all things green and yellow, and he's appearing in Wisconsin for the second straight season in a new 30-second McDonald's promotional TV spot created by Arnold Worldwide and designed and produced by Thornberg & Forester in New York.
Everything seen in "Tailgating with the Packers Guy" and "Q&A with the Packers Guy" was created in CG or shot on a digital still camera and animated frame-by-frame, explains Scott Matz, partner and Creative Director at Thornberg & Forester, who directed the spots.
Matz calls the approach to producing these spots highly efficient, not just from a budget perspective but from an ecological one as well.
"We went green with this campaign," he quips.
"For the animation of the characters we were able to dip into a vast database of photography we shot last year and reconstruct it for this year's spot."
