Blurb will open a pop-up store this month in New York's SoHo neighborhood. Blurb Pop-Up/NYC will be situated at 60 Mercer Street and will be open between October 21 and October 31, 2010, from 11:00AM - 7:00PM daily.
The creative space will feature daily events as well as showcase the different kinds of projects that are possible with Blurb, which enables anyone to create, publish, share and sell professional-quality books. From design to photography to fashion, blog, fundraising, family books and more, Blurb Pop-Up/NYC will inspire guests with a range of unique ideas and help them get started on their own book projects. The pop-up's 11-day schedule includes a series of workshops, speaker sessions and special events in partnership with some of New York City's leading creative minds.
"People get so inspired when they see Blurb books in person - most can't believe they can make a book of this quality, so quickly and easily, and for as little as the cost of a pizza, " said Eileen Gittins, Blurb's founder and CEO. "For a company that does business exclusively online, this is a huge deal for us; we get to meet our customers in a real space, not just virtually. There's something really lovely about that symmetry - physical books and real people. For an online company, who knew?"
Blurb product and customer service pros will be on site daily to answer questions and demo Blurb's suite of bookmaking and marketing tools. Blurb Pop-Up/NYC will also feature a fully stocked library of Blurb books for visitors to thumb through for inspiration.
All events at Blurb Pop-Up/NYC are free and open to the public. RSVPs are required for several events that have limited space. Visit blurb.com/events/nycpopup to view the schedule and to RSVP for select events.
