The Industrial Designer Society of America's (IDSA) National Education Council, along with the National Conference Committee, invited submissions for papers, presentations, panel discussions, charrette workshops and poster proposals for the 2011 IDSA International Conference hosted this year in New Orleans from September 14 to 17 at the Roosevelt New Orleans.
The conference theme is "Community" and will explore the importance of community across multiple layers of design. The theme will examine emerging social issues, the decentralizing influence of online resources in manufacturing and distribution, the interplay between local and global participants, and many others. Educators, graduate students and industry practitioners are encouraged to submit abstracts of their recent work. This is the second year that IDSA has held its international conference in New Orleans. In 2000, the conference was one of IDSA's largest stand-alone events with over 800 people attending.
Deadline for submissions is April 1, 2011.
