Print's Color Conference

Print's Color Conference

Print Magazine today announced the first-ever Print Color Conference, taking place October 4-6, in New York City. Presented in partnership with Pantone and COLOURlovers, and hosted by The Art Directors Club, the event is an exploration of color by leaders in the graphic design, art, fashion, lighting, and interior design industries. The focus of Print's Color Conference is to illuminate and elevate the discussion of color; its usefulness and impact on society, its importance as a communication tool; and its impact on the worlds of art, design, politics, branding, and everyday lives.

"When we were planning the first ever large-scale event in Print Magazine's 70 year history, we knew it had to be something special - a unique conference; something immersive and interactive," said Aaron Kenedi, Editor-in-Chief, Print Magazine. "The creative possibilities of focusing on color resonated with our community, and we are honored by our prestigious partners and the notable names-from a wide array of design disciplines-who have agreed to speak."

Speakers include: Bill Moggridge, Director, Cooper-Hewitt's National Design Museum; Eddie Opara, Partner at Pentagram; Gael Towey, Chief Creative and Editorial Director at Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia; Leni Schwendinger, lighting artist/designer from Light Projects LTD; Jessi Arrington, Co-founder, Creative Director at WORKSHOP; Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director of the Pantone Color Institute; among others.

"This is exactly the kind of content that our audience at the Art Directors Club will be excited about, and it's an under-explored topic that crosses all creative fields. We fully expect that for two days, our 5,000 square feet of gallery space will be filled with vibrant color and engaging discussion," said Olga Grisaitis, Director of the Art Directors Club. "We are thrilled to partner with Print and host the world's first Color Conference."

"The rules for color aren't black and white. We each experience the world uniquely and that creates an awesome opportunity for each of us to share our own perspective with others," said Darius Monsef, Founder, COLOURlovers. "I'm really excited to partner with Print magazine, Pantone and the Art Directors Club on this upcoming conference, and look forward to being together with so many creative folks to share the color love."
