ASID RealWorld DesignWeek 2011

RealWorld DesignWeek, the annual nationwide mentoring program created by the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID), is scheduled to take place November 6-12, 2011.

RealWorld DesignWeek is the first national program aimed at educating future interior designers through in-person experience.

The program is open to all members, free of charge, and pairs ASID student members with interior design professionals and ASID Industry Partners.

More than 1,000 ASID members participated in nationwide interior design mentoring program in 2010. Michelle Beamer, Allied Member ASID, principal of MB Interiors, praised the program for its hands-on approach.

"I loved the idea of giving back to the design community by hosting a student for a day, but I never imagined how much I would learn in the process," said Beamer.

"Seeing design through someone else's eyes energized me and gave me new ideas."
