desigNYC, a platform that connects talented designers interested in civic engagement with extraordinary nonprofits serving the public good, announced its 2012 Call for Nonprofit Projects and Pro Bono Designers.
Launched in 2009, desigNYC is recruiting for its 3rd round of project collaborations connecting extraordinary nonprofit organizations with talented design professionals who are leaders in the fields of architectural, landscape, interior, experience and communications design.
This season, desigNYC will focus on selecting nonprofits projects and programs that are helping to transform and revitalize our local communities, and improve the quality of life for those that live, play and work there.
Recharging Communities will support projects that connect communities, strengthen their social fabric and improve neighborhoods.
From better housing and public places, to communication systems and knowledge networks, desigNYC will leverage all kinds of design disciplines to strengthen communities and bring about a sense of place, applied to cross-cutting issues such as sustainability, health, diversity, livability, vitality and economic renewal.
The deadline for submissions is November 10, 2011, 5pm EST.
