San Francisco's leading design voices will come together on March 29th from 6 to 9 pm for "Fast Forward: What's Next in Design?," a diverse panel about emerging design trends that also marks the 20th anniversary of Zinc Details.
The five panelists reflect Zinc Details' deep roots in the design community and in a variety of disciplines. The panel features furniture manufacturer and founder of Council Design Derek Chen, industrial design studio Mike & Maaike, lighting and industrial designer Pablo Pardo of Pablo Designs, innovative interior designer Nicole Hollis, and strategic design and trend expert Marieke van der Poel of the brand consultancy Proef. The panel will be moderated by Remodelista managing editor Lydia Lee.
"We are excited to partner with Zinc Details to celebrate this huge milestone for the San Francisco design community," Lee said. "Throughout the years, owners Vas and Wendy have shared their passion and knowledge about modern design, making an international roster of exciting designers and their products accessible to a broad audience. At Remodelista, we've had that common goal: to introduce people to great design from all corners of the world and inspire them to make it an integral part of their lives."
Founded 20 years ago by Vas Kiniris and his wife Wendy Nishimura Kiniris, Zinc Details is known for its exuberant mix of art, design, and craft. With an ever-changing array of new products, the store's unique collection brings together brand names like Knoll, Herman Miller and Vitra with work by emerging talents and local Bay Area artists.
Throughout the years, Zinc Details has celebrated design with the San Francisco community by hosting film screenings, camera workshops, exhibitions, conversations with artists, and even wine and chocolate tastings.
"This anniversary is a momentous celebration for us. But instead of reviewing all our accomplishments, we chose instead to look at what's around the corner," Vas said. "We love what we do and always think about how we can do it better. This outlook inspired our showroom, our community and our customers for 20 years, and it will continue to do so for the next 20 years and beyond."
The event is free and open to the public. Please RSVP at rsvp at zincdetails.com.
