Carbon Design Group Forms Board of Directors

Carbon Design Group has formed a board of directors for the world-recognized product design and development consultancy.

"We're excited to have the opportunity to tap more than a hundred years of combined experience in business, innovation, and design that our new board members bring," said Dan Blase, Carbon Design Group's president. "Their input will help guide Carbon's strategic growth in the coming years."

Dr. Rick LeFaivre is partner at OVP Venture Partners. He has served as VP of the Advanced Technology group at Apple Computer and held R&D leadership positions at Borland International, Silicon Graphics, Sun Microsystems, and Tektronix. He has over thirty years of accomplishments as an R&D executive, venture investor, computer scientist, professor and board member working at leading universities, high-tech companies, and venture capital firms. "Having worked at Apple, I have a passion for great design and know what it can do for a business; I'm excited to be working with Carbon because they do truly outstanding design work," said LeFaivre. "Rick's career has been centered at the intersection of technology and design-right in Carbon's sweet spot. This makes him a great fit for guiding Carbon's trajectory as we move into the future," said Blase.

Todd McIntyre is Vice President at Intellectual Ventures, a global leader in the business of invention. Intellectual Ventures collaborates with leading inventors, partners with pioneering companies, and invests both expertise and capital in the process of invention. Todd has been a founding member of several technology startups and has helped guide them from inception through to successful product introduction. "Carbon's combination of top-tier industrial design with hardcore engineering puts them in a great position to assist clients in driving their own innovation processes to build their brands," explained McIntyre. "Invention is a core part of the value we bring to our client partnerships," said Blase. "Todd is deeply immersed in the world of invention."

Robert F. Trenner, co-founder of Cornerstone Advisors, brings 43 years of business experience to the board. Cornerstone manages more than two billion dollars for wealthy families, non-profit foundations, and trusts, and has been identified by Bloomberg as one of the fifty largest independent advisors in the United States. "With over 32 years in financial services, Bob knows what it takes to delight clients. We're lucky to have someone with Bob's experience in the service industry to help ensure we're doing all we can to deliver client delight," says Blase. "Creating great client experiences is a vital part of Carbon's DNA. Nurturing this element will be essential as the team continues to grow," said Trenner.
