Winners of the IIDA Healthcare Interior Design Competition 2012

The International Interior Design Association (IIDA) unveiled the winners of the inaugural Healthcare Interior Design Competition. The Awards honor and celebrate outstanding originality and excellence in the planning and design of healthcare interior spaces. The winners of the competition were selected from over 100 submissions from around the globe by an expert panel of interior design professionals, who specialize in healthcare interiors.

Winners were announced in four categories that included Ambulatory Care Centers, Hospice Care, Hospitals, and Senior Living & Residential Health, Care, and Support Facilities. The Best of Competition was selected from the Best of Category winners.

"The quality of entries and depth of design talent demonstrated in the project submissions was exemplary and indicative of the breadth of complexity involved in creating effective and efficient healing spaces," said Cheryl S. Durst, Hon. FIIDA, Executive Vice President and CEO of IIDA. "In selecting the winning projects, the IIDA panel of judges worked to bring together their knowledge of the industry and advances in the medical field, a sense of what is relevant design, and a search for what is original.

The project solutions in each category are true representatives of the power of design to promote and protect health and well-being."
