Dassault Systemes unveiled the finalists of its second international competition for young designers; Riten Gojiya of India and the Czech designers Josef Ludvik Bohm and Jakub Novak.
The finalists are taking part in a three-day final workshop which started in Prague on Tuesday. Under the leadership of Jean Hong and Thomas Balle, designers from Dassault Systemes, they are developing their project with the help of a unique 3D sketching tool, which can immediately transform a hand-drawn sketch into a 3D model.
Dassault Systemes Design Challenge 2012 called on the participants to present, through individual objects, their ideas of a modern European city and its citizens. Riten Gojiya, a student of transportation design at the International School of Design Pune, succeeded with a vision of a hovercraft for "excursions into the third dimension", while Josef Ludvik Bohm got the jury interested by his design of an active robotic orthosis, and Jakub Novak scored high points with a project of a futuristic pedal boat.
