Bresslergroup has named J.D. Albert, an entrepreneurial, MIT-trained engineer, to be Director of Engineering.
Albert has over 15 years of product design and development experience and has 50 granted patents.
He earned a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from MIT in 1997. Albert started his career as co-founder of E Ink Corporation, whose technology is used in electronic books such as the Amazon Kindle.
At E. Ink, he served as Principal Engineer and was responsible for manufacturing development. E Ink was acquired in 2009 for approximately $400M by a Taiwanese company.
Albert previously worked at Bresslergroup, consulting on a range of consumer and medical device projects. He then moved on to become Director of R&D at technology startup SRS Energy, and later became CEO of the new energy company.
The SRS Sole tile, a photovoltaic, solar-power roof tile, won a prestigious IDEA award and was named one of Popular Science's 100 top innovations of 2009.
"It's great to have J.D. back at Bresslergroup, in a new, expanded role. His engineering skills, and successful commercialization track record reflect the strong partnerships Bresslergroup builds with its clients," commented Bresslergroup Partner, Andrew Weiman.
