The 2012 Global Excellence Awards, International Interior Design Association's (IIDA) annual international competition honoring the best interior design projects from around the world, is now open for entries.
The competition highlights outstanding originality and excellence in the creation of international interior design and architecture projects.
"The scope of international Design is continually broadening. Last year we received an impressive number of submissions of an extremely high caliber of design work from 32 countries around the world. The depth of design talent is evident with these outstanding projects which continue to represent excellent and exciting global design," commented Cheryl S. Durst, Honorary FIIDA, LEED AP, Executive Vice President and CEO, IIDA.
"IIDA is dedicated to showcasing the very best of Design in its various forms, highlighting cultural differences for firms designing interiors across the globe. We, along with our competition partner, BMW Group DesignworksUSA, are honored to continue hosting a competition that celebrates firms whose distinctive design choices continue to set new standards of excellence in Interior Design."
Projects can be submitted in the following ten practice areas: Corporate Space Large, Corporate Space Small, Cultural/Institutional/Educational, Healthcare, Hotels, Municipal/Public Spaces, Residences, Restaurants, Retail, and Spas/Fitness/Wellness Centers.
Winners will be awarded in each category, as well as two honorable mentions, and one Global Excellence "Best of Competition" winner will be selected to receive an original, one-of-a-kind crystal award created by Daum, the world-renowned French maker of fine crystal. The winners will be announced at a special presentation during Maison&Objet, in January of 2013 in Paris, France.
The deadline for entries is November 23, 2012.
