Core77 and Microsoft have today unveiled the 50 finalists and five winners of the App to the Future challenge. The competition challenged designers to imagine an app for Windows Phone that helps create, connect or delight your future self.
"The surprising outcome of App the Future was the number of great app ideas that had not yet been produced," commented LinYee Yuan, executive editor of Core77. "Not only did the apps solve unique problems they delivered pure delight, assistance in doing what you love, and the ability to connect in ways that appeal to users-personally."
The last phase of the competition involves finishing the apps and submitting them to the Windows Phone Store. All finalists gain access to a list of developers they can work with and are eligible to win phones if they go on to develop and launch their apps in the Windows Phone Store.
