The Future Designers Program, launched today by the Victorian Minister for Innovation, Services and Small Business Louise Asher, invites Victorian education providers to work with local companies to solve current business challenges using the latest design-led thinking.
Future Designers will support collaboration and knowledge exchange between education providers and industry partners to expose design students to relevant business problems faced by Victorian firms. This learning opportunity will provide students with relevant 'hands on' experience and guidance to develop their design skills, knowledge and attitudes, preparing them for the workplace and complementing their current course curriculum.
The Program is part of the Victorian Government's $10 million Victorian Design Initiatives 2012-15 which sets out the Government's commitment to supporting best practice design, grow awareness of design, build business capability and foster excellence in design skills.
