AIGA has today announced that Sean Adams, AdamsMorioka and Drew Davies, Oxide Design Co., have been elected as co-presidents of the organization.
Adams, a former president, has rejoined the AIGA board of directors on an ex officio basis and will serve a two-year term.
Davies, already serving on the board and as national design director of Design for Democracy, will complete the final year of his term in the role of co-president.
AIGA has also named the new members of its board of directors.
Deborah Adler is a designer, entrepreneur and mother of two. As the principal of Adler Design, Adler and her team bring new ideas to market and work with industry and nonprofit clients to design experiences, change behaviors and improve outcomes. Prior to launching her firm she partnered with Target to develop the award-winning ClearRx prescription packaging system, which makes it easier for patients to take their medication.
Jenny Lam is a cofounder of Jackson Fish Market, a small software startup in Seattle focused on making beautiful software experiences that has shipped more than 25 products in the past five years. Lam served as creative director of the Windows User Experience team at Microsoft, and she founded and organized the first HIVE conference with AIGA Seattle to address design's ever-growing role in technology.
Kevin Perry is a designer and business professional with more than 13 years of agency experience. He currently drives all resource operations at Struck, an internationally acclaimed digital-forward creative agency headquartered in Salt Lake City, Utah. Perry served as president of the AIGA Salt Lake City chapter, where he cofounded Salt Lake Design Week and the ReVinylize Project, which turns reclaimed billboards into useful products.
Ruki Ravikumar has more than 10 years of experience as a design educator and 15 years of experience as a graphic designer with clients in India, the United Kingdom and the United States. She presently serves as chairperson and director of graduate design programs at the University of Central Oklahoma, as the president of the AlGA Oklahoma chapter, and as co-chair of the AlGA Design Educators Community steering committee.
Brian Singer manages the communication design team at Facebook. Prior to joining Facebook he founded Altitude, a San Francisco-based creative agency that helps consumer brands engage people through inspiration. Singer created The 1000 Journals Project, a global art experiment where journals are passed from hand to hand, and served as president of the San Francisco chapter of AIGA.
Andrew Twigg is an independent designer focused on design strategy, branding and web design. Andrew is also an adjunct faculty member with the Carnegie Mellon University School of Design, where he has focused on web design curriculum and cross-media design systems. Prior to establishing Andrew Twigg Design Studio, LTD, he worked at startups and agencies on brand strategy, content strategy, and web strategy.
