Inside Out and Outside In - Public Spaces in a Digital World

Inside Out and Outside In: Public Spaces in a Digital World

Examined through the lens of landscape urbanism, this program will take a comprehensive look at the ways urban public spaces are responding to changing uses and technology.

Moderated by Signe Nielsen, RLA, FASLA, a panel of experts will discuss themes including public spaces as the new short-stay workplaces - as people move out of controlled environments and into the open, these spaces reflect the new socialization; traditional workplaces becoming public spaces - Google's headquarters, corporate building lobby cafés; turning temporary plazas into permanent and humane ones; "private" parks; and outdoor living rooms.

These topics will be discussed against a backdrop of the visual communication of space and function.
