The International Federation of Interior Architects/Designers (IFI) has announced the upcoming Design + Economy = Our Future symposium to be held on April 22-23 at Steelcase WorkLife Center, New York.
The event will bring together key stakeholders, leaders, and experts in the private realm, public sector, business and government to explore the symbiotic relationship between design and economic growth in the 21st Century.
The symposium and a half day think-tank will address the impact of design on the wealth of our cities and its related influence on a nation's design policy.
The workshop outcome will have a lasting impact as it will foster the formulation of a consensual design policy statement intended to aid the improvement of both life quality and economic development in our cities, nation and region.
Speakers and panelists include esteemed figures such as Ed Feiner, FAIA, Director of Design Leadership Forum, Perkins + Will, and former Chief Architect of the US General Services Administration, and David J. Burney, FAIA, Associate Professor of Planning and Placemaking at the Pratt Institute School of Architecture and former commissioner of the NY Department of Design and Construction.
In an evening session on April 22, guest speakers will explore the aspect of business as it relates to design and the economy.
