Herman Miller has released four animated videos called "The Hilda Stories" as part of its WHY digital platform. Hilda Longinotti, George Nelson's longtime secretary, paints a unique portrait of the designer's legendary New York City atelier.
Hilda Longinotti's association with Herman Miller began long before she joined the company. She was introduced to the industry in 1954, when she became executive secretary for George Nelson, then Herman Miller's consulting director of design.
In 1974 Hilda joined Herman Miller, working in showroom sales in New York City. Her strong knowledge of design and wide acquaintance in the architectural and design communities enabled Hilda to develop a pilot program for strengthening communication between Herman Miller and architects and designers.
The success of this program led to Hilda's appointment in 1979 as Manager, Design Community programs-which became the foundation for today's Herman Miller A+D representative.
The series were animated by Damien Florébert Cuypers.
