Duality is an exploration of how light can be revealed from within a solid object. HJC Design's aim was to create a pure representation of this idea through a simplistic form with intuitive user interaction.
The rotation of the unit controls the intensity of the light. When the unit is open, the light is at full intensity and can be dimmed by rotating it back.
The frosted glass column helps gently diffuse the light, and the copper inlays add extra depth and warmth to the reflections. Matte porcelain external housing creates a striking juxtaposition with the intensity of the inside of lamp.
