Moleskine recently unveiled the Smart Writing Set that instantly digitizes notes and sketches as they are made on paper. The set consist of a notebook, pen, and app that work in tandem, creating digital text and images that can be edited and shared immediately with a phone, tablet, or laptop.
"We see demand for our paper-based collections grow in double digits year after year, showing the continued relevance of paper in the digital age," commented Arrigo Berni, CEO of Moleskine. "On the other end we are well aware of all the advantages of digital, for editing, curating and sharing. This is why we see analog and digital as a continuum."
The Paper Tablet feels like a notebook but is purposely designed with extended rounded edges to look like a tablet. The Pen+ features a hidden camera that traces and digitizes everything you write, and the Moleskine Notes App stores written notes and sketches.
With the Smart Writing Set you can create offline first, using your hand to eye coordination and reducing digital distraction. Thoughts can be drawn on paper and refined in the app. Notes can be handwritten in a meeting and sent as a PDF attachment to your team back at the office with a tap of the pen. Sketches can be shared in real time or turned into a just-in-time presentation.
