Stantec has been selected as Executive Architect by developer Terra Group to collaborate with Pritzker Prize-winning Italian architect Renzo Piano on Eighty Seven Park, the luxurious new $120 million residential project located at 8701 Collins Avenue in Miami Beach. As a result, Stantec's Miami office will be working closely with Terra Group, Renzo Piano Building Workshop and the City of Miami Beach executing the design concept.
The 20-story beachfront structure will feature 70 spectacular condominiums ranging from 1,400 to 7,000 square feet. The residences will offer expansive floor plans, massive outdoor living areas, ten-foot ceilings, and floor-to-ceiling windows with unobstructed views of the ocean and intracoastal, Miami skyline, and the nearby North Shore Open Space Park. The 202,400 square foot project is estimated to be completed by December 2017.
"Working daily with Renzo Piano's team in Paris has been an honor. The result of our architecture married with his design will be a building that blurs the line between indoor and outdoor living, immersed in a park-like environment," commented Alejandro Hoch, senior design manager, Stantec. "Perfecting the spatial relationships between the residences, common areas and amenity spaces was very challenging, but the end result should be both stunning and peacefully harmonious, flooded with reflective sunlight from the ocean."
