Prime Studio came on board as Goby's product development partners and designed their launch offering, the Goby electric toothbrush. The design is the result of extensive consumer testing and consultations with dentists and hygienists. It was developed using an iterative process involving testing and tweaking of multiple prototypes.
Early on in the process the designers identified the key features for toothbrush to offer efficacy without complication. It has a rotating oscillating motion, built-in 2 minute timer with 30 second interval notifications and a built in illuminating reminder to change your brush head after 90 days.
In addition Prime addressed many of the pain-points of current electric toothbrushes so the design features an easy to use stand with a built-in hidden drip tray to collect run-off. The removable magnetic USB charging system eliminates cord management issues and makes for easier travel and charging on the go.
Goby's distribution model is based on direct-to-consumer sales through their website. This enables them to offer a high quality product at a very reasonable price. They also offer a subscription service for replacement heads.
