Autodesk Research and Dartmouth College have collaborated on a new research project to design and 3D print free-form wind instruments in a variety of different shapes with software they've named Printone.
Printone gives designers critical feedback while they edit and design; this type of sound simulation has historically been tricky, but the costs and complications were alleviated by frequency prediction methods that power Printone.
