As part of a Christmas campaign for Coca Cola, J. Walter Thompson Brazil created the "Thanks Box," a reverse vending machine that lets users buy and send a Coke for a special person that deserves a special thank you this year.
The vending machine is very easy to use. Customers choose one of the three versions of the commemorative aluminum bottle, featuring the famous Coca-Cola bear, and simply place the bottle into the machine. Then the Thanks Box invites the customer to record a 'thank you' video for the recipient, which can later be shared on social channels.
"We sought to innovate by creating a design project," commented Gustavo de Lacerda and Nacho Mendiola, Creative Directors at J. Walter Thompson Brazil. "We built a machine with long useful life that can be used in other opportunities in addition to the Christmas campaign."
The machines are installed in 4 different states in Brazil.
