MADWORKSHOP Announces Open Call for 2017 Fellowship Program

Madworkshop, a design incubator based in Los Angeles, has announced an open call for two design fellowships for 2017 addressing the theme of Emergency Architecture.

The foundation is currently soliciting proposals for innovative and life-saving design solutions in the areas of product and fashion design. Proposals must tackle one of two topics: how to reimagine the emergency kit (earthquake / fire / flood / civil unrest) or how to develop a high-performance garment for extreme weather or disaster situations.

Each fellow will receive a grant of $5,000 to prototype their idea with the sup- port of the foundation and its board of directors. The deadline for applications is March 31, 2017.
