Type Directors Club has just announced opening of its new spring exhibition "Classic Penguin" in New York City, highlighting innovative book covers that define Penguin Classics, an imprint published by Penguin Books.
In his recently released book Classic Penguin - Cover to Cover, Penguin creative director Paul Buckley and an all-star lineup of creative talent showcase more than a decade of stunning Penguin book covers and tell the stories behind each. Featured artists and writers include Malika Favre, Mike Mignola, James Franco, Jessica Hische, and Jillian Tamaki.
The exhibition at Type Directors Club presents the covers as works of art that bring classic literature to life. The exhibition is on display at Type Directors Club through May 25 as one of the events featured in the NYCxDesign celebration.
The exhibition is free and open to the public Monday to Friday, 9 am to 4 pm by appointment only.
