Hem has opened the doors to its first brick and mortar location in North America with a pop up shop located in Soho, New York on 325 W. Broadway. Running through the end of November, the shop will showcase Hem's latest 2017/18 collection of furniture, lighting and accessories.
The shop offers a wide selection of the brand's high-design, versatile and affordable furniture and homeware, accompanied by a curated selection of tabletop ceramic items from Patrick Parrish gallery and watches from TID Watches, all enclosed in a jungle-like interior theme framed by colorful walls from acoustic brand BAUX.
The new Hem collection features a series of hand-woven 100 percent Woolmark certified material and sustainably produced carpets, as well as Hem's iconic armchair and ottoman Hai, designed by Luca Nichetto, now updated with refined lines and two new fabrics. The new collection draws inspiration from exotic plants, and shimmering fabrics in deep blue and green, and natural-colored shades of beige, orange and pink.
"The NYC Pop Up marks an exciting step for the brand," commented CEO and founder of Hem, Petrus Palmér, "Hem was founded with the aim of democratizing quality design and we are thrilled to highlight our brand's mission and products to the creative New York community with a physical retail space in the design-centered neighborhood of Soho. Our goods have long been available throughout the U.S. via our ecommerce platform, through which we've grown a committed following in America -- the pop up will allow existing customers and potential clients to get a first-hand look at our offerings."
Central to Hem's offerings, will be a focus on their recently launched service, Hem Pro, an online dedicated tool for interior professionals and design aficionados to browse products and place orders with discounted pricing. Pop up visitors will be able to learn more about the service with first-hand demonstrations led by specialized Hem staff.
