Fougeron Architecture last year completed 400 Grove Street project in San Francisco's Hayes Valley. After the Central Freeway was demolished, freeing up land for new, pedestrian-oriented development, the neighborhood has become one of the city's most dynamic places to live. 400 Grove puts 34 market-rate condo units on a prominent corner site, organized around a landscaped central mews accessible from the street.
The building's facades are faceted at angles calibrated to capture the most desirable views for each unit and give each unit its own individual expression viewed from the street. The ground floor includes space for a corner restaurant, while the roof decks provide open space and views for residents.
