Yankee Barn Homes recently completed its new barn home, 'Oyster Shores.' A contemporary style barn house with iconic barn exteriors, Oyster Shores has a fresh interior that utilizes clean lines. Designed by Jeffrey Rosen, creative director for Yankee Barn Homes, the barn is located in East Hampton, NY. The amount of exposed timber on the interior is consciously minimal, white oak floors have no color applied, and walls, doors, and ceiling are purposely done in a palette of pale grays.
Challenging preconceptions of pre-fabricated homes, Oyster Shores was manufactured at the company's facility in New Hampshire, from American-sourced materials, and was weather tight in under two weeks, saving on both build times and job site waste. It also incorporates their trademarked True Roof and True Wall Panels, which are designed to combine the highest performing attributes of traditional stick-built construction with Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs). Like a SIP, True Roof and Wall Panels layer an exterior wood sheathing over a rigid foam core insulation. True Roof and Wall Panels, however, incorporate structural studs for enhanced strength and durability.
