Dashel recently launched a new cycling helmet that is made sustainably and built to last. Designed by Map Project Office, the helmet is manufactured in the UK and uses innovative materials for a lightweight and slim profile.
Dashel helmets are made from a durable multi-impact foam liner and a carbon-fibre shell. This combination means the helmets last longer and are lightweight and slim. Map worked closely with Dashel and an international test house to refine and iterate the design to pass and exceed the safety standards. This required several iterations of the design and much research to understand the tests themselves.
Map also helped Dashel hone the distinctive profile, minimal venting, fit and hand-crafted details that make their helmets less overtly sporty and more appealing to the metropolitan cyclist. The carbon-fibre shell is handmade in the UK by a family-owned factory with years of helmet-making experience. This is married with simple but well-executed details such as a simple leather carry loop; a woven harness from a traditional British manufacturer and an easy-on and off magnetic clasp.
