Jaguar has unveiled its new all-electric SUV, the Jaguar I-PACE. Designed from the outset as a premium electric vehicle (EV), the mid-size Jaguar I-PACE SUV offers a bold aerodynamic design and interior space comparable to a larger vehicle.
Jaguar I-PACE's sleek, coupe-like silhouette was influenced by the Jaguar C-X75 supercar concept; drawing inspiration for its short, low hood, aero-enhanced roof design and curved rear window from the concept. This cab-forward design contrasts with its squared-off rear, helping reduce the coefficient of drag.
"The I-PACE's electric powertrain offered us unprecedented design freedom," commented Ian Callum, Jaguar Director of Design. "Starting with a clean sheet enabled the dramatic cab-forward profile, unique proportions and exceptional interior space - yet it is unmistakably a Jaguar. We wanted to design the world's most desirable EV, and I'm confident we've met that challenge."
Available Premium LED headlights emphasize the clean lines of the I-PACE and feature a compact design that incorporates the trademark Jaguar 'double-J' signature daytime running light design.
Inside, users will experience a spacious cabin, featuring Touch Pro Duo infotainment system, Vibrant HD displays, advanced touchscreens and capacitive switches complement multi-function, rotary controllers. "We set out to design an emotive and atmospheric interior that excites the senses, where the driver is central to the experience and passengers are afforded the space they need," Callum said. "Being inside the I-PACE is to experience something special and that is what a Jaguar is all about."
Materials are carefully chosen to provide a blend of natural finishes and high-tech surfaces, including optional Gloss Black, Gloss Charcoal Ash wood grain and precision-machined aluminum. The contemporary color palette emphasizes the sense of space and lightness inside, while the option of slimline performance seats further enhances the sports car feel of the I-PACE interior.
