The inaugural SCCI Architecture Hub will be held October 12-21 with a notable line up of international and local guests. The event will feature a rich and diverse 10 day program of talks, workshops and films.
SCCI Architecture Hub is a vibrant new platform exploring the best contemporary ideas on architecture and its intersections with culture, society, literature, art and technology.
Themed events include: Architecture Words, exploring the impact of books and writing on architects and the role of architecture in books; Women on Architecture, opening up lively discussion on the challenges faced by women architects in a profession with a high level of gender inequality; Pavilions, discussing the cultural phenomenon of the architectural pavilion; and Fashion & Architecture, delving into fashion/architecture synergies when 'East meets West' with a conversation between architects Peter Stutchbury (Peter Stutchbury Architecture) and Olivier Solente (Woods Bagot).
Other thematic sessions include: The Future of Architecture, Ethical Architecture, Modern Architecture, Library Architecture and a specially curated program of films on architecture and architects, which will screen throughout the SCCI Architecture Hub.
