Salone del Mobile has announced that its upcoming Shanghai edition, 'Salone del Mobile.Milano Shanghai,' will take place November 22-24, featuring 119 Italian brands showcasing the best of "Made in Italy" design to the Chinese market.
With previous Shanghai editions attracting more than 40,000 overall visitors, this year's show will build on past successes. In addition to the exhibitors, the show will include an outpost of SaloneSatellite, the platform spotlighting up-and-coming designers, as well as Master Classes led by renowned Italian architects Michele De Lucchi, Stefano Boeri, and Roberto Palomba in conversation with equally talented Chinese designers Yung Ho Chang, Liu Yichun, and Furong Chen. These insightful discussions will serve as an opportunity to explore global thoughts on the development of the design industry in China and in the world.
"Shanghai is a fundamental strand in the internationalization process the Salone del Mobile.Milano has undertaken over the last few years geared to bringing prime Italian manufacturing to the Chinese market," said Claudio Luti, President of the Salone del Mobile. "Our objective is to strengthen the links between our two cultures, both with a wealth of history and experience behind them, and both keen to communicate the quality, originality and creativity of Italian furnishing to further build on Made in Italy's strong powers of attraction."
