The AIA-NY Global Dialogues Committee is hosting its sixth annual discussion on how digital media is changing the way that we see, understand, discuss, and develop architecture. Past events focused on how blogs (like ArchDaily) were supplanting print media or how architects (like Bjarke Ingels) and companies (like Google Sidewalk Labs) used to these to grow and inform their practice.
Now a new generation of social media platforms (such as Instragram) is transforming how we see architecture once again. How are media platforms changing? How do people who both design and create use social media to inform both how they design and how they interact?
The 2018 Global Dialogues event will look into the near-future of fluid idea sharing from the present moment of image-posting, likes, and tweets. Speakers include Matthew Bannister, Founder, DBOX; Amanda Ferber, Founder, Architecture Hunter; Sofia Hagen, Design Partner, DH Liberty; Paul Keskeys, Content Director, Architizer; and Vivien Liu, Founder, Studio Unit.
