The Telly Awards has launched its annual call for entries with new categories honoring outstanding work in serialized branded content and live video. Founded in 1979 to honor commercials made for cable and local TV, The Telly Awards recently renewed itself for the multi-screen era.
Throughout 2017-2018, the Tellys refashioned its categories to honor the type of work being made by leading producers, including branded content, social video, and animation, and worked with industry experts to identify categories where technology plays an important role in the ways stories are now being told.
"The last two years have been an exciting renewal period for The Telly Awards, and we're proud to cap it off with a 40th anniversary celebration that will not only showcase the Tellys online, but also bring a live sampling to audiences in the nation's biggest cities," said Tellys managing director Sabrina Dridje, who was tapped to lead the ambitious revitalization. "We're excited to celebrate 40 years as the industry's top honors with a fresh identity that reflects the dynamism and vitality of the industry we honor."
Last year, The Telly Awards attracted more than 12,000 entries from top video content producers including Conde Nast, Showtime, Refinery29, RadicalMedia, and Ogilvy & Mather.
The deadline for early entries is December 7th, 2018. Winners will be announced in May 2019.
