HOW magazine recently honored IIDA with an In-House Design Award for its NeoCon50 campaign, the IIDA Design Manifesto. The premise for the Association's campaign stemmed from the recently written and presented IIDA Design Manifesto by IIDA Executive Vice President and CEO Cheryl S. Durst, Hon. FIIDA. "For IIDA, the Manifesto supports what design is, what it does, and who designers are globally," Durst said.
Underscoring the Manifesto's message, IIDA translated the power of words with a guerilla-style marketing campaign that took the form of a branded food truck roaming the streets of Chicago. Operating the truck were IIDA employees in custom t-shirts who issued branded snacks and commemorative Manifesto-inspired collateral. The experiential vehicle served as a connection point and respite for attendees and industry professionals, providing refreshments and fun surprises each day during NeoCon.
"This year, we chose a bold new direction for our presence at NeoCon. Emulating our Design Manifesto, the IIDA Truck effectively mobilized our message-Design is Everywhere," said Lauren Haras, IIDA creative project director for marketing, communications, and branding. "It is an honor to be recognized by HOW magazine and this year's creative powerhouse panel of jurors."
