Datacolor recently launched ColorReader, a new gadget that allows users to measure the color of a surface (be the iconic blue used by Tiffany, a fabric swatch or Grandma's china plates) and tells within seconds the closest match across all major brands - including Benjamin Moore, Farrow and Ball, Sherwin and Williams, and Behr.
The tool works for anyone with a smart phone wondering what color to paint a room and also shows trending colors and suggests 'coordinating' colors, which helps pick accents for cabinets/trim or the full color scheme for the next project or renovation.
