IIDA and AIA Chicago have announced 'Designers and Architects Talk: A Series About Design and its Impact on Client Success.' The three-session panel discussion series, to be held at IIDA Headquarters in Chicago in spring 2019, will address commercial interior architecture and design.
"IIDA is excited to host this inaugural series of talks, in partnership with AIA Chicago, to bring commercial interior designers and architects together for fantastic, timely conversations," commented John Czarnecki, Hon. IIDA, Assoc. AIA, Deputy Director and Senior Vice President of IIDA. "Architects and designers increasingly collaborate in innovative ways, and this series will highlight Chicago's design leaders across generations."
Both architects and commercial interior designers will learn from the provocative discussions about projects, firm leadership, and design strategy during the following sessions: McDonald's Headquarters: Impact on a Company, a City, and a Neighborhood, moderated by John Czarnecki, Hon. IIDA, Assoc. AIA, March 20; New, Bold, and Entrepreneurial: Design Firms Changing the Face of Chicago, moderated by Peter Exley, FAIA, April 17; and Women Leading Hospitality Design in Chicago, moderated by Cheryl Durst, Hon. FIIDA, May 22.
"Our two industries collaborate often on job sites and in the design studio," added Zurich Esposito, Hon. AIA, Executive Vice President of AIA Chicago. "But this new partnership will allow our members the opportunity to exchange ideas and share expertise-and to express our shared commitment to great design."
Each session will include a special networking reception. All sessions are approved for one AIA-LU and one IDCEC-CEU.
