Blattner Hall at 75 Arkansas by LMSA

In response to the critical unmet need for affordable student housing near the San Francisco campus of the California College of the Arts (CCA), a board trustee has developed a new mixed-use student apartment building that integrates affordability, community, and sustainability with great design.

LMSA designed the housing to emphasize interaction among students. The apartments are organized around a central lobby, common room, laundry room, and open daylight vertical stair connected by airy, light-filled hallways with views of San Francisco. The three upper residential floors accommodate apartment-style student housing.

Street-level commercial spaces are earmarked for tenants that support student and community needs. A multipurpose space flanked by garden courtyards provides for campus and student life activities.
