Vitra has debuted its Herringbone Collection. Created by the London-based design studio Raw-Edges, the new collection comprises a series of ceramic bowls and vases, wooden objects and cotton pillows.
Herringbone Collection is based on a set of objects created by the studio when they revamped the interior of an entire floor in the VitraHaus in Weil am Rhein. The Herringbone Vessels and Trees are hand-finished by a process of repeated immersion in different color glazes, while the Herringbone Pillows feature printed decorations based on similarly obtained motifs. In both cases, the resulting patterns of intersecting and overlapping bands of color are playful, vibrant and full of movement.
