TPG Architecture recently completed Strictly Cycling Collective's latest outpost in NYC's iconic Hudson Yards. Strictly Cycling Collective is the premier destination for those looking to be a part of the New York City biking community. For over 25 years, the Gutierrez family have been operating Strictly Bicycles in Fort Lee, NJ, and while looking to expand their knowledge and passion for the sport, they decided to open a location in NYC.
Responsible for the full-scope of design work, TPG Architecture designed a one-of-a-kind shopping experience that supports the cycling community, emphasizing Strictly Cycling Collective's values of diversity and inclusion. Looking to highlight and celebrate the camaraderie amongst the cycling community, the design team created a memorable experience for consumers. The store has a designated coffee, wine and craft beer bar area for clientele to connect, relax, and socialize. The space also features monitors displaying annual races such as the Tour de France provide additional entertainment for customers to bond over; graffiti art installations designed by the Strictly Cycling Collective staff; and topographic maps of the neighborhood and surrounding areas on the wall, as well as incorporated custom wood seating elements that were inspired by the Highline.
